On the day that Spring finally arrives in the UK, so, with perfect timing, does this sparkling rosé from Provence. I feel the Cronk family behind the Mirabeau range of wines must have gone into a marketing huddle, brainstorming how to target the intersection in the Venn diagram of people who love Provence rosé and those who love Prosecco, for this wine will surely appeal to them.
Fashionably pale negligée pink, with a delicate mousse, this wine focuses firmly on the fruit, but is thankfully drier than most Prosecco – and the lowish 11.5% alcohol only contributes to the lightness of body that is the appeal here.
Mirabeau La Folie is available from Waitrose at £12.99, but is currently on offer at £10.29.
